Our vision
To link communities through housing and support
Our mission
To assist people to move from crisis to stability through access to effective housing and support. Our goal for 2004 – 2007 is to respond to the needs of local residents in obtaining and maintaining stable housing
We welcome our new partners, the Association of Burundian Communities Qld. Inc. as their two Community Workers base the joint pilot project from a newly developed workspace at our Wembley Road office. The project aims to increase their ability to provide support services for their own community members and develop the associations capacity to become self sustaining & independant.

Our values
• To be client focused, sensitive to client needs and achieving the best outcomes for individuals
• To apply social justice principles, including respect, dignity and equity to all people
• Flexibility to maximise our ability to respond to the needs of clients and the community Our history Interlink was created in 1991 to support the most disadvantaged residents in their quest for affordable housing in an increasing unmet housing need in the community.
Interlink is keen to participate in the provision of affordable housing options to the community, in addition to expanding current social housing options.
Interlink Housing and Support, along with other community housing organisations, have recognised the need to address three often incompatible challenges – to be responsive to those most disadvantaged in the housing arena, to contribute to the available pool of affordable housing and to ensure Interlink’s financial viability.
Our services and programs Interlink manages properties for organisations providing support to residents, acting as the landlord and the support worker. Interlink has been accredited the National Community Housing Standards in 2001. Our range of services meets national benchmarks and provides a quality housing management service to the community. Interlink provides:
• A housing management service to the Brisbane Housing Company delivering affordable housing options in Paddington, New Farm and Camp Hill.
• A community rent scheme funded by the Department of Housing and Community Housing, which provides transitional accommodation in the Logan, Beenleigh and Beaudesert areas.
• A youth accommodation service to assist young people (16 to 21) who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to transition into stable, affordable housing and to independence in the community.
• Accommodation for refugees arriving to the Logan and North Gold Coast region for 6 months, helping them to access their preferred private rental options. These projects are funded through the Queensland Government’s Department of Housing, the Department of Communities, the Brisbane Housing Company, the Department of Immigration and Queensland Health. Interlink’s target groups
• the indigenous community
• victims of domestic violence
• migrants and refugees
• young people
• people with disabilities
Interlink also provides housing management services to the mental health field, refugees arriving through the Integrated Humanitarian Settlement Scheme (IHSS) program, drug court program, and youth-specific accommodation.
Our expertise in providing intensive tenancy management in these fields has led us to be innovative leaders in the provision of specialised housing management services to the community.
As a community housing provider, Interlink is keen to work in partnerships with other community and non-profit organisations, local government, property developers, private owners, business and industry, and government agencies to provide housing options which are responsive to local needs.
